They replaced a team of service providers with one person, and the numbers went up.

The estate arrived as 22 country-specific storefronts on a heavily customised PrestaShop install, handed over by outgoing service providers with almost no documentation. Nothing about it was standard, and nothing about it was written down.

Since then it has grown to 26 storefronts across 22 markets. I own the whole surface: feature development, bugfixing, security, AWS devops, and the ongoing PrestaShop 9 and Hummingbird migration. There is no wider team to escalate to, which is the point - decisions do not queue.

Annual revenue across the estate has grown to over €11 million since the handover. Stability and security improved with it, and downtime is close to zero.
